"Do you still believe in God? asked by one of the gunman....."You know I do." was Rachel's reply...& those were her last words before she received a fatal shot to her head. I'm sure many of you have heard of the catastrophe that happened at Columbine. This was one of the worst shootings in America and a girl named Rachel Joy Scott was one of the first people to be shot. She was a strong christian a believer in faith of God, but her life would soon end the day two guys (that thought that there was no way out of the bullying and that killing others then after taking their own lives was the only way to solve it) came into Columbine high school on April 20, 1999.
She was killed for her strong faith and outreaching voice she had. Even though the two gunman thought they had drowned out rachels voice by kiling her ut in fact that only made her voice louder than before because little did they know that her story would tug the hearts of over a millions of lives. Everyone around this young lady spoke strongly of her presence especially her family and her friends. Rachel Scott impacted many lives around her even after death she still impacted of people still living. One of her dreams was this very statement made by her.
" I have this theory that if one person can go out of their way to show compassion then it will start a chain reaction of the same." ~Rachel Scott It's amazing that even through this tragedy Rachel's voice was still heard, and is still being heard by hundreds of people. Rachel knew that she was destined for greatness that God called her for something more than to be labelled as "average" as she wrote about many times before.
Rachels challenge is merly trying to " exist to inspire, equip and empower and empower every person to create a positive culture by starting a chain reaction." This has a good mission because it is empowering students to be more kind to each other secluding bullys from within the school. But their purpose is not in taking bullys away but to insist that every person challenges themselves to be a better person by saying kind things to the many humans around us.
Its amazing how one person...ONE PERSON has the power to change thousands of people. Raqchel Scott was that person. She knew her destiny even when she was a little kid, she knew she was destined for something great. I think that she realized that her generation was called for something greater than what was to be, and that is how she came across such an impact to the generation of her's and ours as well. I think she also realized that kids even as young as her in high school could have the power to dramatically exist to change the lives of students "who never give up there presuit to being a better person." And as well does our generation have the potential to empower many others. This is why i give high respect to Rachel for her incredible beliefs and ethics, and no matter what anyone around her was doing around her she was still being led to the amazing call in her life that God has chosen her for.
